...hmmm, I'm thinking about buying StaffWriter,
but, I still have a few questions...

Q:  When you use a notation program,
can you also add text & symbols from StaffWriter?

A:  Yes, in some versions.  We've tried the
Mac version of StaffWriter on Finale 2005
with success.  However, the PC version defaults to
a different font--as do many other fonts in that
version of Finale.   On Finale 2007 we were happy
to find that both versions of StaffWriter work.
You'll have to check the version of your
notation application to make sure how
it handles TrueType fonts.

Q:  Can you build a data base in Excel®or
Numbers® and add StaffWriter's symbols
to the cells, to make, say... a music dictionary?

A:  Yes, you can.  You can then add new symbols
to your data base as your class learns
new terms and definitions.
